Removing a blood-caked, dried-in bandage is no laughing matter.
I removed one from my knee without too much trouble. But on my knee I could use both hands while seeing what I was doing. Then I did the one on my elbow. I couldn't see the wound, less than half the sticky bandage was in sight. And I only had one hand to do it.
But I did get it off without breaking open the wound or hurting myself.

But if they put iron pins and wires in you they have to take them out again. Which means cutting trough to the bone.
So they cut me open, pulled all the stuff out and stitched me up again. And they sent me home the morning after. I left the bandages on for a couple of days to keep the wounds closd off and clean. Now they are all open to the air and unprotected, but they are almost grown closed so that's OK. I
